The East of England Ambulance Service is calling for volunteers to help staff a Community First Response Group for Sheringham and the surrounding villages.   

If you are a fit car driver, living or working in the area and aged between 18 and 70 years and have a caring personality you would be trained by the Ambulance Service in Basic Life Support. 

This would include the administration of oxygen and the use of a portable heart defibrillator to provide first aid to a casualty in the critical time between the 999 call and the arrival of the ambulance.

Definition of a Community First Responder
A  CFR scheme is made up of groups of volunteers who, within the community in which they live or work, have been trained to attend emergency calls received by the NHS ambulance service, providing first aid until an emergency ambulance arrives.
